Quickstart
Create a key and make your first SERPforAI API call in under a minute.
1. Create an account
Sign up at /login with an email address and the six digit code we send you, or continue with Google. Passwords are hashed with SHA-256 in your browser before they are sent, so the plaintext never leaves your device.
2. Copy your API key
Open /dashboard/keys. A primary key is created automatically. You can add extra keys for staging, CI or per-service isolation, rename them, regenerate them, or delete them. The primary key can be regenerated but never deleted.
3. Call the API
Every endpoint uses the same bearer authentication:
export SERPFORAI_KEY="your_api_key"
curl -X POST https://serpforai.dev/api/v1/search \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $SERPFORAI_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"s":"vector database comparison","t":"google","d":20000,"p":1}'
A successful response looks like this:
{
"code": 0,
"msg": "",
"data": [
{
"title": "Vector database comparison",
"url": "https://example.com/vector-db",
"content": "A side-by-side look at ..."
}
]
}
code is 0 on success. Any other value is an application-level failure and msg explains why.
4. Try it without writing code
The playground runs the same requests from your browser, shows the HTTP status and latency, and generates ready-to-paste cURL, Python, Node.js and Go snippets. It requires you to be signed in because calls are billed to your own key - there is no anonymous trial key.
Platform status
serpforai.dev is not deployed publicly yet. Until it is, this site answers every call from a
contract-accurate mock layer: the request and response shapes documented here are final, only the
data is synthetic.
